Use the controls (explained below)
to express your humor. Then uncheck 'Show selection boxes', take a
screenshot, crop it down to the strip, and send it in. Simplicity.
And cheaper if you don't own Photoshop... :)
Controls
The strip itself: Click in a frame
to select it for editing. The selected frame will be outlined in
red. Click on an object to edit that particular object. The
selected object will be outlined in green. You can drag objects
around in the current frame and resize them with the little blue
box in the bottom-right corner. Note that you must click on the
opaque part of the image you wish to manipulate.
Frame: This indicates which frame
you are currently editing. You can also select a frame here.
Object: This indicates which object
you are currently editing. You can also select an object here.
Show selection boxes: This
determines whether the red and green selection outlines will be
shown. Uncheck this before taking the screenshot of your finished
work (or any time you get annoyed by the outlines).
Replicate frame: Pressing this
button will replicate the selected frame to the subsequent frames.
Could be a timesaver.
Speaker: Use this to select who is
speaking in the current frame. Note that only Gabe or the squirrel
can talk. I figured the squirrel might, but the bench was
stretching it a bit...
Text: Allows you to edit the text
(what is being said) for the current frame. Just type. If you
delete all the text for a frame, the line connecting the text to
the speaker will disappear (so you can have a silent frame).
New object: Choose an object to add
to the current frame from the drop-down list, then click the
button to add it.
Replace selected with: Choose an
object to add to the current frame from the drop-down list. When
you click this button, the object currently being edited is
replaced with the new one you just chose. The new object will be
in the same place and be the same size as the one it replaced.
This is really useful for changing Gabe's expression (say from the
talking-right head to the staring-straight-ahead head).
Delete selected: Yup. Deletes
whatever object is currently selected. You cannot delete the text
box (see the 'Text:' section above).
Speaker distance: Allows you to
fine tune the distance from the speaker to the speaker's end of
the little line that leads to the text. Try it out - you will
understand.
Textbox distance: Same as speaker
distance, but adjusts the other end of the line.
Layer adjustment: All four buttons
act on the currently selected object. |< is bring to front,
< is bring forward one layer, > is send back one layer, and
>| is send to back.
